The atmosphere was amazing with live music, super friendly service. Our server, Jose was super helpful with suggestions! The authentic German food… To die for, it was so amazing, definitely worth giving this place a try if you’ve never tried it. The beer was superb!! Authentic German beer house! Sit at the bar and you can find at least 33 beers on tap. I ordered the Yeager schnitzel mushroom gravy, warm German potato salad and a rattler which is a fruit beer. Lucky for me I came early enough to get the first tap on the keg! My husband always goes for a light wheat beer. The accordion player has been there for 20 years, he is delightful. I have a European background so I’m excited to go there often. They have cookies, cakes and candies for my childhood as well as many beers from my youth. The little ladybugs pictured are made of marzipan. I have several favorites and each time I do bring them home. Service is always great. Don’t forget to visit the beer room where you can look through all the authentic beers in bottles for purchase. Usually we sit inside, but there is outdoor seating as well.

Who knew you could order lunch at Dunderbacks?! We’ve been here many times for dinner and it’s always great. They serve authentic German food and a huge beer list. We went for lunch on a Thursday and they were busy but not crowded. Food, beer, and service were all great as usual. Check out the back of the menu sometime, you’ll thank me. In addition to their regular menu they offer about a dozen special sandwiches or you can make your own from the deli. Highly recommend stopping for lunch

From the warm wood-paneled interior to the long communal tables and shelves stocked with European goodies, the atmosphere is both authentic and inviting. The food? Outstanding. I had the Jägerschnitzel and it was cooked to perfection—crispy, flavorful, and generously portioned. Their selection of craft and imported beers is unmatched, with over 400 bottles and drafts to choose from. If you’re a beer lover, this place is paradise. Service was friendly and relaxed, and the staff seemed genuinely passionate about the menu and the experience. Bonus points for the live music nights and the adjacent market where you can grab German snacks and ingredients to take home. Whether you’re craving schnitzel, sausage, or just a great pint in a lively setting, Mr. Dunderbak’s delivers. I’ll definitely be back

My mom is from Germany so we always search for these types of places and this one is wonderful. The food is well priced and tastes sooooo good. The schnitzel is just mmm so yummy. Our waiter was super nice too :)

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ OMG! I haven’t visited since they were in the University Mall. Why? I have no clue but we will be back way more frequent. Visited on a Sat and it was FANTASTIC! Decor is wonderful, service was impeccable & the food was AMAZING! After we ate, we did some shopping for some sweets. They have so much to choose from! Beer cheese soup, pierogies & the New Yorker were amazing. The food was even better than I remember. Jared was in our server who was fantastic. Parking can be tight so plan ahead. We parked right in front with no issue during our visit.

This was the cutest German place I've gone to by far, there was a German man playing the accordian in German and it really set the tone. Their curry sausages were phenomenal and the veal schnitzel was fantastic. This definitely was a great experience to Try German food and I cannot wait to go back!

If you’re looking for a spot that knows how to pair hearty eats with tasty brews, Mr. Dunderbak’s has you covered! We kicked things off with their pretzel and beer cheese – warm, soft, and perfect for dipping – the ultimate starter. We both went with glasses of Belgian framboise, which was refreshingly sweet and made every bite even better. My girlfriend went for her tried-and-true favorite, the DER (NEW) ROTE BARON – a double-decker beauty stacked with roast beef, roasted turkey breast, and their haus-made garlic cream cheese, all served hot on pumpernickel. She swears it’s the ultimate sandwich, and honestly, she might be right. I decided to tackle the VON BOMB, which is… well… exactly what it sounds like – a monster. This pork schnitzel sub comes loaded with two fried eggs, bacon, three cheeses, crumbled pancakes, onion rings, and a spicy Zig sauce on a sub roll. It’s basically a breakfast, lunch, and dinner all in one, and yes, it’s big enough for two. This is the sandwich of all sandwiches. Overall, the food was spot-on and the adult beverages fantastic. The only thing to know before you go? This place is always packed. Great for their business, a little less comfy for guests – so be prepared for a cozy (and slightly overpacked) atmosphere. Still, totally worth the squeeze for food this good
